Imagine Feeling Powerful, Fearless and Free
What would your life be like if you felt powerful, fearless and free to do and be anything you can dream of?
How would your life be different if you felt the confidence and courage to take heart-driven, inspired action that will spiral you forward in fulfilling your purpose?
Imagine living each day on your own terms and being totally lit up, because you’re finally living the life you were meant to have! Imagine yourself completely in the driver’s seat of your life. You feel empowered, connected to your purpose, and feel clear about the life you want to create. Doesn’t that sound amazing?
For many however, feeling empowered and ready to take on the world is not so easy and natural as it may sound.
Owning your power may, sadly enough, not be so self-evident for you.
Instead, you’re feeling stuck, confused, and burned out. You’re ready to make a change, to make a difference, but an invisible dead weight keeps pulling you back.
Why is it so hard to feel confident about who you are and the things you do? Why is it such a challenge to just own your power?
The answer is: FEAR OF POWER
Let’s take a look at 4 reasons why you may feel reluctant to step into your power:
1) Having experienced misuse and abuse of power by others
The first reason you may have developed a fear of power is because others executed their power and harmed you in some way. When that happened, there was probably some kind of authority involved, an inequality in position or role, where you were the ‘weaker’ one, the helpless one.
You may have been hurt and damaged by parents, grandparents, older siblings, or other family members. Maybe you felt victimized by other kinds of authority figures, such as teachers, religious leaders, bosses or the government. And ultimately, you may even feel that you were wronged by God or Source.
And you may have vowed to never let that happen to you again and to stay away from power forever.
2) Having witnessed misuse and abuse of power by others
The second way your fear of power may have been imprinted is witnessing loved ones being victimized by misuse of power. Bad things that were done to your family, your friends, your community, society, etc. as a result of misuse and abuse of power.
We don’t have to go too far back in time to be reminded of war, oppression and slavery, for example. And so the belief that powerful people are bad and that power makes them mad, was easily installed in us.
And you may have vowed to never let that happen to your loved ones again and to stay away from power forever.
3) We’ve made mistakes with our power
The third reason you may not claim your true power is because you were at some point the one who misused or even abused your power. The ‘perpetrator’ who knowingly or unknowingly, consciously or unconsciously at some point made mistakes in your lifetime(s). When that’s been a part of your reality (and it’s probably a given that over time we’ve all done something that couldn’t see the light of day) you may still carry the guilt and unforgiveness attached to these experiences.
And you may have vowed to never misuse your own power like that again, and to punish yourself by never owning your power again.
4) Others don’t like us having or gaining power
And finally, you may refrain yourself from stepping into your power because others won’t like you when you are successful and shine your brightest light. They don’t want you to be the tall poppy, gaining power and control over them. In turn, you’re afraid they’ll reject you, leave you, or that they’ll ban you from the tribe when you claim your power and dare to speak your truth. So, your deep instinct and need to belong will keep you loyal and equal.
And you may have vowed to never let anyone down again and to always be loyal to others’ wants and needs
These are four reasons that may have blocked you from owning your power.
The hurt, the anger, the sadness and the guilt is still in your system. Even if these experiences took place decades ago, or even in your lineage or in other experiences your Soul may have had. The carry-over is stored in your cells and energetically works like a handbrake anytime you want to step forward.
It caused you to fear being successful, to step into your greatness and to show yourself and your gifts and talents to the world.
The bad news is that you’ll probably never know 99% of what happened across time, space and dimensions.
The good news is that you don’t need to know in order to heal yourself from the energetic residue of these experiences.
There CAN be a new way of being that will amplify your success without the handbrake on, and help you live like the force of nature that you are: powerful, fearless, and free!
